Jenn-Air: A Well-Mannered Refrigerator

When it comes to keeping food fresh, the idea of refrigerator and freezer compartments sharing air is just rude. Nobody wants ice that picks up odors from last night’s dinner or produce that spoils prematurely. Not to mention opening your freezer to find your holiday turkey is damaged by freezer burn.

All of these scenarios, and more, are the result of a refrigerator and freezer that share air. You can use them to sell the benefits of true independent cooling featured on Jenn-Air® built-in refrigerators with the Twin Fresh™ Climate Control system.

With dual evaporators, refrigerator air stays inside the refrigerator to maintain temperature and, more importantly, the high relative humidity level needed to help fruits and vegetables stay fresh longer.

Because the two compartments don’t share air, the freezer retains cold, dry air to minimize the food spoilage that comes from freezer burn.

The new Jenn-Air® French door and bottom-freezer built-in refrigerators with TwinFresh™ Climate Control cooling also feature our industry-exclusive Obsidian interior with LED lighting that makes fresh food the star of every kitchen.

True: Organized for Real Life

“A place for everything and everything in its place.” – AUTHOR UNKNOWN

No one knows how to design a kitchen like a chef. Successful chefs ensure that their kitchens are designed to complement the needs of both the food and the people preparing it.

In the process of applying our expertise in commercial refrigeration to serve the needs of the home chef, we studied professional chefs, noting the way that they move through their kitchens and how they use their cold storage. While each commercial kitchen differs depending on its objectives (consider the different needs of a kitchen in an Italian restaurant versus a sushi bar), what doesn’t change is that a refrigerator’s value is tied directly to its ability to serve the specific movements and storage needs of the professional chef.

So we design our residential refrigerators to serve the specific movements and storage needs of the home chef. True kitchens are people-centric, for those who know what they want in a kitchen and are willing to design around those wants. So whether you want an independent coffee bar, juicing station, or salad prep area, our line of 15” and 24” Undercounter Refrigerators and Undercounter Refrigerator Drawers serve those functions. Perhaps you want to give the kids their own drink storage out of the way of the main kitchen traffic—a Beverage Center can make that happen.

The increasing trend toward completely customized kitchens is, at its core, a trend toward better organizing our lives. That’s a trend that will only grow, and it’s why we’ve designed a True refrigerator for everything (and everything in its place). To get inspiration on organizing your kitchen, see some existing True kitchens or, better yet, visit us a TA Appliances!

The Quiet Kitchen

I have been in the industry for 5 years and the question I hear the most would have to be “Is it quiet?” This tends to be the most important feature to consumers when it comes to dishwashers and hood fans. It is surprising that above function and durability, that low noise levels are the most sought after features. Luckily most of the products in today’s market have low sound ratings and also happen to perform well and last a long time.

 LG Kitchen

Now you have bought a silent dishwasher and whisper quiet range hood, and all you can hear is your fridge! Almost all refrigerators on the market are using a single speed rotary compressor. This type of compressor spins in a circular motion and for the most part has 2 speeds…ON and OFF. This style can cause a lot of noise, especially after a year or two of operation. When it starts, it is at full speed and stops hard (like your car going 100kmph and then coming to a stop and turning off. Rotary compressors are not the most durable or energy efficient. Discover more about LG products on their website or, shop LG at TA Appliances

LG Electronics has another amazing innovation that will solve this issue. Two words…LINEAR COMPRESSOR. What does that even mean? Well LG’s Linear Compressor is a piston like compressor that is variable speed. It turns on and off gradually, so there is less strain on the compessor and it generates very little noise. LG’s Linear Compressor is also very efficient. If your fridge only needs to cool down a little, it can operate at 20-30%. I highly recommend purchasing one of the many LG models with this feature. I did and I am extremely happy with my purchase!
